5 Ways to Help SPDR

Help

1

Foster a Rescue Dog

The number of dogs that SPDR can rescue is often limited by the number of qualified foster homes that we have available.

2

Become a Breed Rep or Co-Rep

SPDR’s rescue approach is based on having Breed Representatives and Co-Reps who are willing to coordinate the rescue of a particular breed. Requirements include specific knowledge and experience with the breed, ability to interface with the public, excellent communication and organization skills, and a willingness to respect and uphold SPDR’s policies and mission statement.

Find out which breeds currently need a Breed Rep by clicking on the “Unrepresented Breeds” button; learn more about a Breed Rep’s responsibilities by clicking on the “Learn More” button; then contact us at (206) 654-1117 to request an application.

Specify SPDR for Employee Giving or Employer Donation Matching

The variety of Employee Giving and Donation Matching Programs available in the Puget Sound is a great source of extra donations to SPDR.

If your company is already enrolled in an annual giving campaign such as the United Way, simply add SPDR onto your list of designees.

Some employers offer donation matching—where every dollar you donate to SPDR (including adoption donations) can be doubled, thanks to your employer.  Check with your Human Resources Department to see if your company has a donation matching program.

Donate... it's Tax Deductible!

Shop and Support SPDR

When you shop online, you can donate a portion of your purchases to SPDR—and it won’t cost you a thing! Here's how to do it (note: AmazonSmiles was discontinued in February 2023):

Fred Meyer Community Rewards

Register your Fred Meyer Rewards and designate SPDR (account# YX469) as your charity of choice. SPDR will receive a quarterly donation based on purchases.

iGive.com

iGive.com is a donations-affiliated shopping portal that encompasses a wide variety of online stores, including 1-800-Flowers.com, Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, Kohls, Le Creuset, Samsung, Safeway, and many more.

Here’s how it works: go to the iGive.com website and register as an iGive shopper.  It’s free!  Select SPDR as your cause — we’re listed under Washington State, as an “Animal” cause. Whenever you start shopping directly from the iGive site, a portion of your purchase will be donated back to SPDR.
